Octavia Nasr is history.
CNN’s senior editor for Middle East affairs has been fired as a result of protests regarding her comments on the leader of Hizbollah, the Iranian-financed Lebanese terrorist group. Ms. Nasr has a personal Twitter account with many subscribers. She sent them all a message which read, “Sad to hear of the passing of Sayyed Mohammed Hussein Fadlallah … One of Hezbollah’s giants I respect a lot.”
In addition, Ms. Nasr has also publically questioned the validity of the Holocaust. Specifically, she disputes the numbers of people murdered and says that the numbers are inflated and wrong. She provides only personal “guidance” to support her claims. That and the fact that she hates Israel and its Jewish inhabitants.
CNN has long advertised itself as being above partisan reporting. Octavia Nasr really tested this over a long time. In the end, like the veteran White House reporter, Helen Thomas, who was caught on video making anti-Semitic remarks, she just couldn’t restrain her hatred of Israel and the Jewish people.
